Adventurous Moment

Been wanting to do some Adventure Time for a while now. This piece will be forever known to me as the 2 Day Print! I sketched it out on a Monday night, pencilled and inked it on a Tuesday, and colored it on Wednesday! (Technically that might count as 3 days, but it was over a span of 48 hours.

I've been catching up on Adventure Time lately, and began reading the comic. It's a unique show, and has plenty to offer for all age groups. I hope the show has a lengthy run, but with how quick seasons are coming out and having a young teenager voicing the main character, I don't know how much longer it will go on. I'm sorry, I didn't mean to get so negative.

Over the year I've been trying to switch to inking with a brush (Winsor Newton Series 7 to be exact), and I'm just now feeling confident enough to ink some of my fan art with it. I still made some flubs here and there, but I'm pretty happy with the way this came out, and my confidence is building with my new weapon of choice.

Favorite part of this piece was definitely the Ice King. I took a few liberties with designing him, and I like the choice of lighting I made in terms of the shading on his face.
